Whether you are using a router or an extender, connecting to the network means you will need details like the network SSID and the password. However, if you have lost these details, and are looking for information on how to recover the same, this blog is what you need to give a read. Generally, there are two main passwords for a router/extender. One- that’s used as an admin password and the other as the network password. There are also the guest network password and the cloud account password. Now, if you have lost the network password, there’s a way to recover it. But, there’s none for the network password. This blog will walk you through the steps to perform Linksys password reset easily so you can connect to the network and begin with the network access seamlessly.

Linksys Admin Password Reset
If you have forgotten the Linksys device admin password, there’s only one way you can recover it- performing a factory reset. When you perform the reset, it will erase all the network and device configuration from the Linksys device. Once you have done that, you can reconfigure the device using common setup steps and a new admin password.
Here are some steps you can follow to reset your Linksys admin password:
- Locate the reset button at the bottom of your Linksys device. In most cases, you will find it concealed inside a small hole. It can also be a small button, depending upon the device model you have.
- Press the same for about 5-10 seconds till the LED lights on the front panel flash altogether. When they do, release the RESET button and wait for the device to reboot.
- If they don’t, you might need to press the button a little longer.
- While the Linksys device is restarting, do not power it off or disconnect the power supply from the mains. This will damage the software and you might need to replace your device.
