In this blog, we’ll discuss why your Linksys Velop app is showing this error and the ways you can get it back online.
Reasons for the error
Among a host of reasons responsible for causing the error, a device that is not functional is likely to bring up the chances of the device being offline. Now, the reason why your device isn’t functioning can be a whole different case. You can resolving the issue can be made possible by power cycling the device.
What is power cycling you say?
Power cycling is a process in which a device is turned off and disconnected completely from the power supply for a minute or more and is switched back on later. This helps reset the network activity inside the device and helps clear the memory to improve the functioning.
Power cycling your device
The steps to power cycle your device are simple. Just turn off all the devices, disconnect them from the power outlet and allow them to be like this for about 30 seconds.
After 30 seconds, connect the devices again and power them on.
If you discover that the Linksys router is still offline, you can follow some troubleshooting methods as under:
- Your router may also show offline status if the internet speeds are too low. A slower-than-normal internet speed may be a result of the IPv6 feature. You can try disabling the same.
- By visiting the adapter options on your Networks section, click on the Properties section and click on the radio button next to “Internet Protocol Version 6(TCP /IPv6)” option and click on the “Ok” button.
- Disabling the IPv6 feature will prevent the slower data transfer thus boosting the Internet speeds.
If you think disabling the IPv6 feature isn’t helping, you can also try performing a firmware upgrade. You can also reset your router using the RESET button on the bottom panel of your device. Use a thin object like a pinot a paperclip to press and hold the same for about ten seconds or until the LEDs on the front panel of the router start blinking. Once they do, release the RESET button and allow the router to restart. You can now reconfigure your device by accessing the default setup wizard.
Finally, you can reconfigure your router using the ISP connection. Though this may vary as per the type of internet service you have subscribed to, you can follow the steps accordingly.
